PingPatrol

Catch API contract drift before it breaks your app

The APIs you depend on change without warning — a renamed field, a new type, a dropped value. Uptime monitors stay green while your integration quietly breaks. PingPatrol watches the shape of every response and alerts you the moment the contract drifts.

Talk to us about PingPatrol

ByJames Xu·

PingPatrol is an API contract monitoring tool that watches HTTP endpoints on a schedule and detects response- schema drift — silent changes to the structure of the data an API returns. Instead of only checking whether an endpoint is up, it compares every response against a baseline so you catch breaking changes before they reach your users. The problem

A 200 response doesn't mean the contract held

Silent API changes

A third-party API renames a field or changes a type. Nothing returns an error — your integration just starts producing wrong data, and you find out from a customer.

No drift detection

Your uptime monitor is green because the endpoint returns a 200. But the contract underneath it shifted, and nothing you run is watching the shape of the response.

Brittle integrations

Every API you depend on is a contract you do not control. When one breaks quietly, it cascades through the features built on top of it.

Manual contract checking

The only way you catch breaking changes today is by reading changelogs you might miss — or by manually re-checking responses, which nobody has time to do.

What you get

Everything you need to watch your API contracts

Schema Drift Detection

PingPatrol compares every response against a recorded baseline and flags removed fields, changed types, and structural shifts — the breaking changes a status code never reveals.

Endpoint Monitoring

Watch every API your application depends on from one place — REST endpoints, SaaS APIs, internal services — each checked on the schedule you set.

Response Time Tracking

See how long each endpoint takes to respond over time, so a slow third-party API shows up as a trend before it turns into a timeout in production.

Error Rate Monitoring

Track the rate of failed and degraded responses per endpoint, and get ahead of an API that is starting to wobble before it fails outright.

Alerting

When drift or an error spike is detected, PingPatrol alerts you immediately through the channels your team already watches — so the right person knows first.

History & Dashboard

A clear dashboard of every monitored endpoint, its current status, and a full history of checks and changes — so you can see exactly when a contract shifted.

How it works

Connect, schedule, and let it watch

01

Connect your endpoint

Point PingPatrol at the HTTP endpoints you depend on. It captures a baseline of each response — status, timing, and the structure of the JSON it returns.

02

Set your schedule

Choose how often PingPatrol checks each endpoint. It re-runs on that schedule and compares every response against the recorded baseline.

03

Get notified on drift

When a field disappears, changes type, or the contract shifts, PingPatrol alerts you immediately — before the change quietly breaks the code that depends on it.

Pricing

A custom engagement, scoped to your stack

PingPatrol is priced as a custom engagement — scoped based on the number of endpoints you monitor and the size of your team. There is no per-seat treadmill; we put together a quote that fits how many APIs you actually depend on.

Questions

PingPatrol questions

What is PingPatrol?
PingPatrol is an API contract monitoring tool built by Clear Frame AI. It watches the HTTP APIs your application depends on, checks them on a schedule, and detects response-schema drift — changes to the shape of the data an API returns — so you find out about breaking changes before your users do.
How does PingPatrol detect schema drift?
PingPatrol records a baseline of each endpoint's response structure — its fields, their types, and their nesting. On every scheduled check it compares the live response against that baseline and flags differences like a removed field, a changed data type, or a new required value. That is drift, and it is what breaks integrations even when the API still returns a 200.
What APIs does PingPatrol support?
PingPatrol works with any HTTP API that returns JSON — REST endpoints, third-party SaaS APIs, internal microservices, and webhooks you poll. You provide the URL, method, and any auth headers, and PingPatrol handles the scheduled checks and comparison.
How is PingPatrol different from uptime monitoring?
Uptime monitors tell you whether an endpoint is up — whether it returns a 200. PingPatrol watches the contract: the structure of what the endpoint returns. An API can be fully up and still ship a breaking change by renaming a field or changing a type. Uptime checks miss that entirely; PingPatrol is built to catch exactly that kind of silent drift.
How much does PingPatrol cost?
PingPatrol is priced as a custom engagement — scoped based on the number of endpoints you monitor and the size of your team. Get in touch and we will put together a quote that fits how many APIs you depend on.
How long does PingPatrol take to set up?
Most setups take one to two weeks. We work with you to map the endpoints that matter, capture clean baselines, tune the alerting so it stays signal-rich, and connect notifications to the channels your team already watches.
